Terms ofservice.

1. Who you are dealing with

Ṣeré is pre-launch software run by its founders. No operating company has been registered yet; before we take payment from the public, the operating entity, its company number and its registered address will be named here. How to reach us in the meantime is on the support and safety page.

This is a draft, and a draft is not in force: these terms take effect only when a dated version that has been through legal review replaces it. “We” and “us” mean the Ṣeré founders; “you” means the person holding the account.

2. What Ṣeré does, and what it does not

Ṣeré lists football games at venues we have approved for play, shows you the details and the price, and lets you reserve your own place. That is the service.

The venue provides the pitch and runs the game. Its own terms of entry, conduct and cancellation apply to you alongside these, and they govern the things we do not control: the state of the facility, its rules while you are there, and whether a late cancellation is refunded. Where a venue’s terms and ours cover the same thing, the venue’s decision is the one that applies to your booking.

Ṣeré does not employ referees, coaches or supervisors, and is not a sports club.

3. Your account

You need an account to book, you must be at least 18, and the details on it must be your own — other players decide whether to play alongside you partly on the strength of them. One person, one account.

You can delete your account from Settings in the app at any time. Deleting it removes your profile and the data that hangs off it; some records are kept where we are required to keep them, which the privacy notice sets out.

4. Booking and payment

You reserve one place at a time, for yourself. The per-player price and any Ṣeré fee are shown before you pay, in the currency the venue charges in.

A game needs a group of at least 4 players before it goes ahead — a reserved place is not a confirmed game until the group is there. If a game does not reach its group, see the cancellation and refund terms.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel your place in the app up to 24 hours before kickoff. Inside 24 hours the in-app cancellation is closed and the venue handles it, including any exception and any refund, under its own terms. The full rule, and what happens to your money, is on the cancellations and refunds page.

6. Safety, and its limits

Two rules are built into the product rather than promised here:

• Ṣeré does not form one-on-one games between strangers. Every game needs a group before it can go ahead.
• Games are organised only at venues Ṣeré has approved. We do not send players to private homes or unverified locations.

What we do not do is as important. Ṣeré does not verify players’ identities, does not carry out criminal-record or background checks, and does not vet who you will be playing with. Other players are strangers, and you should treat a Ṣeré game the way you would treat any other public game with people you have not met.

You can report a concern from any confirmed game in the app. Reports go to a person and are handled separately from attendance. Urgent concerns, and how to escalate, are on the support and safety page.

7. How you behave

Turn up to the games you book, or cancel in time so someone else can take the place. Follow the venue’s rules while you are there. Do not harass, threaten or discriminate against other players. We can suspend or close an account for any of these, and for using the service to do something unlawful.

8. Our responsibility to you

No liability clause has been drafted yet. Until one is, nothing in these terms limits our liability to you, and your statutory rights apply in full.

That gap is deliberate — this section needs drafting rather than filling in, because a liability clause that is unenforceable, or that purports to exclude something a consumer cannot lose, is worse for a reader than no clause at all. What we can say plainly in the meantime is that playing football carries a risk of injury, that risk is not one Ṣeré creates or supervises, and nothing published here is intended to reduce rights you hold under consumer law.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects a booking you have already paid for, the version you agreed to at the time is the one that applies to it.

10. Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If something has gone wrong, raise it with us first — the route is on the support and safety page. If we cannot resolve it between us, every statutory route stays open to you, including a complaint to the ICO about how your data was handled, which the privacy notice explains.
